See You At The Pole is September 22. Check out this link for more info and to get involved. More information will be coming as to where and when to meet on Sept. 22.
Why does Jesus matter? That is the question we are out to answer. And the answer we seek is a personal answer. We each should be able to clearly answer why Jesus matters to me personally. This goes far beyond the historical Jesus or the institutional Jesus who leads the Church. We could also think of baby Jesus in the manger or the bloody Jesus dying on the cross. Jesus walks on water and raises from the dead. Jesus feeds thousands from nothing. Jesus promises to one day return from heaven in order to take us to be with Him forever.
These are all important images of who Jesus is, but they gain much greater and more significant meaning when we pair them with the personal understanding of who Jesus is to me. This is not a quest to imagine Jesus as anything we want and simply change Jesus into a figure of our liking. Rather it is the quest to find the real Jesus and know Him intimately. From this intimate knowledge of Jesus as a person comes the power and passion to live life as we were meant to.
This is what Youth Ministry is about. We take the things we have learned so far and set out on this quest to find Jesus...personally. This is a journey that will take us the rest of our lives and cost us everything we have. But it is a journey in which the prize is truly guaranteed and we are also promised plenty of help along the way.
A mystery...
A quest...
An adventure...

Sunday morning Bible hour classes have resumed. Sr. High students will be starting missions training using the materials from Operation Worldview with Michelle Wood. We will be using Michelle's experience and enthusiasm for mission work in Russia as a launch point for our own discussions on Missions and planning our own missions trip. This is a crucial time for our students as we will be learning to share our faith, work with different peoples and think about the kingdom throughout the world.

Bible Fellowship Hour on Sunday mornings has resumed. Our Jr. Highers meet upstairs with Jamey and Christy Gregg. It is a time of building friendships and growing in the Word together. This is a great time to learn the Bible and how to apply it to our lives as we are forming our worldview. It balances well with the creation study on Tuesday nights.
Jr. High Youth night has moved to TUESDAY. The time will remain 7 - 8:30 pm.Our students will be studying creation science and the Old Testament to see how the Bible and science come together to provide a holistic worldview in which the Bible and science are not at odds but complementary.
